ESD Heel Strap Technical Specifications
| Heel Straps / Foot Grounders are used where Wrist Straps are not practical, such as tasks which require mobility. They must be used with properly grounded ESD protective floors to provide a continuous electrical path from the user directly to the ESD Ground. Foot Grounders function exactly the same way as Wrist Straps by providing the ground path from the wearer’s skin through the foot grounder to the grounded floor surface. |
| Industry standards specify that foot grounders / heel straps to be worn on both feet to ensure that one foot is always in contact with the floor or fllot mat at all times. It is necessary that the operators / users are instructed properly to use and maintain these heel straps / foot grounders, especially the necessity of placing the grounding tab between the leg and shoe. |
